About Tara
Tara Thomas Gettman talks for a living. As a former news anchor, podcaster, voiceover talent, blogger, writer, communications executive and--above all--Christian, she is taking a leap of faith to follow her true calling as a professional speaker.
Tara grew up in Peoria, IL, studied journalism at Boston University and has a Master's in strategic communication from the University of Iowa. She was a TV news anchor in the Northwest and Midwest for nearly 20 years, until her faith led her to walk away.
Today Tara is a happily married wife and mom with a mission to help Christians embrace their faith as an asset, not a liability. Much like she has done when God led her to pivot professionally more than once.

"Tara is a source of inspiration to so many through her story of unwavering FAITH. She worked as a journalist and anchor for two decades - and in an industry that forbids you from honoring your faith and being your authentic self, Tara took a stand and never shied away from sharing her faith as a devout Christian. She has always put God first and that’s what makes her so successful in her personal and professional lives."
